Triton Yacht Club is hosting an exciting event at the Richardson Marina August 6th from 10 to 5.
There will be a number of unusual boats on display that are normally not shown at most commercial boat shows. The emphasis is on small boats that are powered by sail, human effort, electricity and low powered gas or diesel. There will be hand crafted boats, some wooden and some fiberglass. Some of the boats will be in the water and some on the grass.
A number of the boats will be shown by the Oregon Coots, a group of folks devoted to maintaining traditional small craft. You can see samples of their boats on the website: coots.org.
There will also be individual exhibitors. If you are interested showing a boat, you can contact Scott Coleman 541-463- 0555.
A Bristol 27 foot sailboat will be available for free ½ hour rides for show goers.
There is ample picnicking on the grass and camping reservations can be made at the Richardson camp sites behind the marina.
So just come on out. The event is free.
