Dam Closing Party

Celebrate the Closing of the Dam at Fernridge. Held annually at Richardson Park Marina. Bring your favorite beverage and a jug of water to “prime” the reservoir. The Army Corps of Engineers closes the gates to the dam around the 1st of February annually. We meet to appease the rain gods and celebrate the coming season of sailing. (In other words: this is and excuse to get together socially to chat about the coming season and hope in unison that we get enough rain to fill Fernridge!)

Triton Yacht Club Boat Show

The Triton Yacht Club and the Coots would like to invite you to attend
the 2018 Triton Boat Show at Fern Ridge, Saturday, July 14, at
Richardson Park, at the northwest corner of Fern Ridge Reservoir,
northwest of Eugene, Oregon.

The show is for interesting boats of all materials, sail, power, or
human powered. Triton will showcase the Thursday night racing fleets and
classic cruisers. Also on display will be the boats used for sailing
instruction through the City of Eugene and rental watercraft available
through Underway LLC. The Coots will be displaying our usual eclectic
mix of oddball boats.

The show starts at 10:00 AM Saturday morning and runs until about 5:00.
There will be a potluck feed, or some other group dinner, sometime after
the show ends, and a moonlight sail after the sun goes down.

Boats may be displayed in the water or on land. Exhibitors will get free
parking passes for the park, and free marina slips will be provided
Friday and Saturday nights to exhibitors who wish to use them (sleeping
aboard is OK).

If you want to attend the show, please fill out the registration form
and return it well ahead of time. The information you give us on the
form will be used to make a nice display placard for your boat.

If you displayed your boat at the Depoe Bay Wooden Boat Show this year
and your information hasn't changed, you just need to tell me that
you're coming. There is no registration fee. Exhibitors should check in
with the marina host, at the trailer by the marina as soon as they
arrive, to get parking passes and slip assignements. If you're bringing
your boat for just the day of the show, please show up at least an hour
before the show starts Saturday. Contact me home:
541-688-2826 cell: 541-913-0299 (only turned on the weekend of the show)

Youth Sailing Day

Come join us as we introduce a new generation to Sailing. We'll provide a complimentary lunch for all volunteers and participants. After lunch we will distribute participants to skippers then take them out for a Tuesday Evening style sail.

(UPDATE: 5/8/2018)

Volunteers with boats and volunteers without boats are needed to introduce a group of about thirty high school age students to sailing. The plan is to have two adults and two young folks per boat.

I participated last year and it is quite a nice experience to host this age, especially those who may have never been on a sailboat before.

The order of the day is:

Date: May 19th
Place: Richardson Park Marina
           Pavillion next to host's RV
Time: 11:00 Assemble
          11:30 BBQ
          12:00 Safety talk, lifejacket
          12:30 Sail
